Description

Swix: CH Wax (180 grams) - Altrec.com Product Description:

Swix offers a complete line of CH waxes for the entire spectrum of snow temperatures and conditions. the CH stands for Hydrocarbon. CH wax has no fluorocarbon material in their blends--these are 100% high performance hydrocarbon paraffins. CH waxes are assigned different colors based on their intended use in certain snow conditions. Their colors and temperature ranges coincide with the Swix HF and LF waxes, although the darker shades of color on the CH waxes can be distinguished from the Swix LF wax. Note: for the most common snow temperatures, CH6 Violet will do the trick, unless you're dealing with spring skiing conditions.

  • Available in CH4 Ice Blue 14F to 25F (-10C to 32C), CH6 Violet 21F to 10F (-6C to 12C), CH7 White 28F to 18 F (-2C to 8C), CH8 Pink 34F to 25F (+1C to 4C) and CH10 yellow 50F to 32F (+10C to 0C)
  • 180-g. block
  • Warmer temperature waxes also make an acceptable base for the application of Cera F

Good Economical Wax Swix makes a good economical hydrocarbon wax that is suitable for both recreational and serious skiers and snowboarders. Competitive racers (NASTAR) will probably want a fluoro wax. The CH7 is a universal wax that can be used almost anywhere at anytime. You can't go wrong with choosing the CH7. CH6 is a harder wax for colder temperatures that is good for man-made snow that one encounters in the Mid-Atlantic and the NorthEast. It can be a bear to scrape though if you lay it on thick, so be warned. CH8 is a wax for warmer temperatures, which is an option for Spring skiing. CH10 is a wax for even warmer temperature that I have tried for both West and East coast Spring skiing; however, I am not enthused by its performance and always opt for the CH7 instead. I will use the CH10 to hot wax (lay it on skis and scrape it off before applying the CH7 as a means to clean my bases) and as a summer storage wax.
