Freeride or freeskiing skis are specifically engineered for backcountry snow and perform more better in pristine snow than ordinary skis made for groomed terrain. These freeride skis feature center widths that are broader than most downhill skis, so you experience enhanced floatation in hip-deep terrain. The ski tips are slightly raised for enhanced maneuverability in broken and untracked conditions. The Rossignol Men's S4 Pommier Skis also features vibration-dampening elements to reduce the jolts occasionally encountered while skiing on frosty terrain at elevated velocities.
