What I expected I bought a pair of Chaco sandals based on the great reviews I've read and so far so good; still breaking them in. The strap configuration is a bit hard to get right, but I knew to expect it and it won't be a problem. I will be wearing them on a 2 week trip to Italy in May and I think they'll be perfect for all the walking we'll be doing. Nice that they are a bit dressier looking than typical trail sandals.

My daughter loves these Her first pair of Chaco's lasted more than five years and went to four continents. This was her birthday gift, and the basic black color goes with anything.

I Love these sandals, they stay on my feet! I kayak, and am in the water a lot. Frequently getting out in quick moving currents. I have never had a problem with these sandals getting loose. I have tried cheaper shoes with velcro straps and the water has come close to taking them off my feet, that has not happened with the Chaco's. With the toe strap and the Virbam sole I have great foot stability and feel confident in steeping out of my boat into any water. If your a water baby get a pair of these you'll love them.
