Designed for the light and fast fanatic, the Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket for men is steamlined to deliver complete weather protection without excess weight and bulk. Patterned in GORE-TEX® PacLite®, this shell is laminated at the cuff, chin guard, hem drawcord, and zippers for extreme weight saving. WaterTight™ pit zips and a helmet compatible Speed Hood™ help control the body environment, while the No-lift gusseted underarms allow for unrestricted movement. A hip length design, one-hand pull cords and two hand pockets add convenience.

really is This jacket weighs almost nothing, rolls up into a teeny-tiny ball, and looks great on. The fit is way roomier and a bit boxier than my Arc'teryx softshell jacket. This is presumably so you can fit down vests & such underneath, but if you are between sizes you may still be able to size down. The main colour of the "Rouge" is a nice bright red, not pink -- yay! The hood is well cut and large enough to easily fit over a helmet. The main zipper seems a little bit sticky but it might get smoother with time. Note: unlike most Arc'teryx stuff, this jacket is made in China (not Vancouver).
