A hard shell on top and soft shell on the bottom, the Mammut Extreme Hybrid Jacket for men is tough, highly breathable, dirt resistant, and watertight in critical areas, for high aerobic endeavors. This innovative hybrid jacket is designed with durable 3-layer DRYtech™ in the shoulders, hood and forearm, to resist abrasion. The Schoeller® WB-400 body with NanoSphere® weather protection cuts the wind, while providing extreme breathability. With an anatomically tailored design, arm pit zips ventilate, micro-fleece protects the chin, hem drawcord seals the waist, attached hood weather protects, and water tight YKK® zips seal the mini-climate up against varied conditions. The construction is top notch, and does as advertised I have tried everything from Gore tex to venting zippers, but I find that controlling temp. is a problem. No matter how much I vent I seem to get moisture buildup on the inside of my jackets, so I decided to give this hybrid a try. The hybrid jacket is waterproof on top(arms, shoulders and chest) and fleece on the torso. I figured, if anything was going to breath really well it was just regular fleece, although it wasn't waterproof. The jacket is warm and weatherproof up to a point of driving precip. Any rain or sleet that is driving sideways will eventually penetrate your midsection, but we're talking some serious weather here. The fit is just like most everything these days, it is designed to be fairly form fitting and it runs in my opinion, a tad to the smaller side, at least a size up from american. A real nice feature of the jacket is the stretch of the fleece, it is on the underside of the arms and in the torso, and it works as advertised.
