slick subtle look, good protection, great value go for the patterned black; nothing but compliments for this jacket! the fit is loose athletic and there are no taped seams so this is not a pure waterproof jacket; the material sheds rain no problem but if your going to be in a deluge, better head to the lodge! but for cool/cold days with high activity levels or even just sitting on your bum, this is just right! it's got plenty of venting, but not alot of pockets. i've got softshells from OR, patagonia, and salomon and this is my fav, just cause it looks soo good, but it's tres comfy too. shortcomings: only 3 pockets. no tapes seams...4 stars
