Description

Salomon: Teneighty Gun Ski (No binding) - Altrec.com Product Description:

Built with the best elements from the legendary Pocket Rocket, Salomon's award-winning and popular Teneighty Gun goes big in the backcountry with a stiffer tail, wider width and complete edge reinforcement for extra durability. Essentially Salomon retained all the good stuff and built a stronger platform, so you can huck off cliffs and kick off the kickers with more abandon and less worry. The wide, (96-millimeters in 174-cm. length!) proportions add extra float in deep powder and untracked stuff (especially if you have the spare change to afford heli-skiing). Pair the Teneighty Gun with Salomon's ultra-light STH 16 B100, STH 12 B100 or Z12 Ti B100 ski bindings with the 100-mm. long brake bars and you are ready for takeoff.

  • For expert freestyle and freeriders who like to stick to the backcountry (especially heli-skiing!)
  • Turn radius: 18.6 m. in 174-cm. length
  • Dimensions in 174-cm. length (tip/waist/tail): 130/96/124 mm.
  • Ollie-friendly full-width, total-edge reinforcement design
  • Dual boot center with a twin tip design
  • Monocoque Double wall construction
  • Isocell complex core
  • Fast UHMW designed base
  • Redesigned graphics for 2007-2008

sweet ride I demo'ed a pair of GUN 1080's (175 cm) at Sunshine, near Banff (I'm 5'9", medium build). The snow on most runs was good with thin powder on top. On the dive there was the usual wind blown powder plus some fresh stuff. The bindings on the demos were mounted close to the center of the ski, which may or may not be standard- but it worked superbly. They behaved well in the moguls and were excellent in the powder and steep runs in the extreme terrain. Stable on landing and very forgiving. I also demo'ed a pair of Salomon Foil's the same day. They were not as good on the steeps or in the powder- or anywhere for that matter. They did the job, but didn’t have the same feel and were less fun. I'd be happy to own a pair of GUNs- you could ski them everyday.

All Around GReat Skis! I own a pair. I've always been a big fan of the 1080 line since the beginning. These are the best 1080's ever! I live in Maine and was a little nervous to take them out. For the first five times out this season I’ve always had my Supersports in the car just in case. I’ve never gone back to the car. Granted, we’ve had a great powder season thus far, but we get the wind. The wind that blows the top-sheet off of everything up top. These skis handle well in all conditions- POW, soft groomers and the occasional ice patches. Don’t get me wrong, carving skis these are not, but they can take you to the next level in confident backcountry skiing. Check ‘em out!
