The Topaz has a narrower waist than Salomon's Origins and Jade, making it perfect for carving, but it doesn't have the same twitchy all-wood core found in the faster experts-only Rush. Because the Topaz has a slightly wider sidecut than the Rush, it's possibly a better choice for broken terrain--unless you're really into racing. The Topaz comes with an integrated Salomon Z10 Ti B80 binding with vertical progressive pivot--the same stuff found in the high-end Z12 Ti bindings.
