Description

Ride Snowboards: Concept TMS Snowboard - Altrec.com Product Description:

As a rule, snowboards that try to do everything don't do much of anything well. Thankfully Ride never paid much attention to the rules when they came up with this new Concept TMS Snowboard. It's a combination of freestyle functionality with responsive performance that dampens vibrations on rolling and changing terrain. One key reason is the wider width combined with a quadratic sidecut that's actually three distinct radii blended together on the board. As you start your turn the wide-arc tip radius kicks in for a smooth initiation, but as you roll your weight onto the center radius you'll find that the arc tightens until you rock back onto the tail where the arc widens into a clean and powerful exit. Ride combined their proven Carbon Array 5 with a new Silencer 5 Tuned Wood core for exceptional response. The Carbon Array 5 is a group of five carbon stringers that radiate out from beneath the binding zone to both sides of the tip and tail. The carbon stringers transmit any pressure (that bending that indicates an intended turn) beneath the binding area and move the energy to the opposing contact point on the snowboard, making turns faster and more responsive than conventional wood core snowboard designs. The new Silencer 5 Tuned Wood core is specifically designed to complement the shape of this carbon array and help filter out edge vibration without stifling the smooth, snappy wood core. If you're comparing this core with the Silencer 3 core, the Silencer 5 has about twice the volume for improved stiffness that will please advanced riders and experts. Another vibration-dampening feature is the Ride 90 A Slimewalls, a urethane sidewall technology that borrows the same smooth feel on Ride's freestyle 85 A Slimewalls, but with better response for performance. Unlike other snowboard companies that use woven glass, Ride insists on stitched Real Hybrid glass made from aramid, carbon and glass fibers. Stitched glass is flatter, more consistent and theoretically stronger than woven glass, and that means you don't deal with the gaps and stretching that sometimes compromises traditional snowboard designs. Beneath the Concept TMS is a fast Fusion 4000 base, a hard, durable and fast base with more pores to hold wax than the 1500 grade extruded and 1000 grade extruded fusion bases. Other performance snowboard designs force you to choose between freestyle and freeride--but the Ride Concept TMS lets you determine your own path down the mountain, and that's something that it does better than any other all-terrain board out there.
