Ride Snowboards: Decade Snowboard

Riding all-terrain can have its rough spots, but Ride's newly redesigned Decade offers several innovations to smooth out your ride at any speed. It's a highly versatile ATV profile with a shape that Ride calls "Twinish". The Decade has a quadratic sidecut that's actually three distinct radii blended together on the board. As you start your turn the wide-arc tip radius kicks in for a smooth initiation, but as you roll your weight onto the center radius you'll find that the arc tightens until you rock back onto the tail where the arc widens into a clean and powerful exit. This sidecut profile helps smooth out the ride in rough and uneven terrain. Combine the sidecut with the new 90 A Slimewalls, and the urethane sidewall technology will help the board absorb abuse and vibrations instead of making you ride through the unsettling impacts. Just like the boards that cost more, the Decade has Ride's 45-Degree Thin Construction Sidewall to smooth out the rough edges in the terrain park and groomed runs. The 45-degree sidewall complements aggressive riding styles without dumbing-down the performance for advanced riders. Some snowboards beef up the durability with a burly 90-degree sidewall that you find on recreational boards, but the 45-degree sidewall on the Decade snowboard offers better edge hold--especially on packed terrain--and quickly transitions for edge-to-edge performance. The 45-Degree Thin Construction Sidewall also tapers along the Decade's tip and tail for a lower swing weight that makes it easier to rotate while doing tricks. To keep things interesting for the experts, Ride applied their powerful Carbon Array 3 laminates and coupled it with a new Silencer 3 tuned core. The Carbon Array 3 is a power distribution design that moves the energy transmitted from your boots and bindings to three distinct contacts on the board, no matter how you set up your stance. The Silencer 3 core works with the Carbon Array 3 to filter edge vibrations without diminishing the snappy response from the core. Beneath the performance refinements is an ultra-fast Fusion 4000 base, a hard, durable and fast base with more pores to hold wax than the 1500 grade extruded and 1000 grade extruded fusion bases. The Decade has the fastest base made by Ride, but it's a combination of great features for a practical price that's tough to pass up.
