Got an aggressive young rider? Get a snowboard with a little more pop and performance without feeling like you bought something a size too large. While most kid's snowboards are built flat (no pop) to entice the entry-level masses, the Ride Ruckus is a giant step up in response for young freestyle and freeride fanatics. Beneath the dazzling artwork is a lively core with about five times the stiffness of Ride's beginner-oriented Kid's Lowride snowboard, so it packs plenty of pop and response. On both sides of the Ruckus Progression Tuned Core is Ride's 45-degree Thin Construction sidewall to complement aggressive riding styles without dumbing-down the design. A few freestyle boards beef up the durability with a burly 90-degree sidewall that you find on recreational boards, but the 45-degree sidewall on the Ruckus snowboard offers better edge hold--especially on packed terrain--and quickly transitions for edge-to-edge performance. The 45-Degree Thin Construction Sidewall also tapers along the Ruckus's tip and tail for a lower swing weight that makes it easier to rotate while popping above the pipe. Beneath everything is Ride's wax-absorbing Fusion 1500-grade extruded base, a design with 25% more molecular weight than the 1000-grade extruded base on the Lowride, which is more than enough to satisfy any youngster's need for speed.
