Great Skis for Speed Freaks Recently purchased Monster 82 183cm length. The ski's strengths are fantastic edge grip and stability at speed. More of a GS ski sidecut with a preference to wide-open turns when just tipping into a carve. Ski is a little sluggish until you hit about 15-20mph and up where it really comes alive and rewards an aggressive, dynamic technique. You'll need a centered/forward stance and a need for speed with this ski or you risk getting spanked. Awesome for speed addicts and absolutely blows through piles of crud off-piste like they weren't even there. Hang on for a wild ride :) Lays down awesome carves on the groomers and rips through the off-piste. You'll want to smear your turns off-piste on the steeps or else you'll be going warp-speed following the natural sidecut/carve of the ski. Shorter turns can be managed by adding some rotary after engaging edges but takes work. Not the best ski for moguls or short, snappy turns. Haven't skied in powder yet but suspect this is a much better ski for heavy crud than powder. Then again it's only 82mm so if you need a powder ski go bigger :) Skier Profile: Height: 6'5" Weight: 210lbs Level: PSIA Level 8, ski extensively off-piste, moderate steeps Favorite Areas: Crystal Mt, Mammoth, Sun Peaks
