Developed specifically for aggressive girl riders, Burton's Ginger Snowboard doesn't dumb down the fun or use the same heavyweight materials (or scraps) also used on adult-sized snowboards. Burton focuses on sizing their snowboard to match a child's weight and height with components that offer the same flex and responsive feel found on larger snowboards. While the dimensions remain the same from years past, the Burton Junior Ginger recently evolved to a Super Fly wood core for improved response, livelier pop and a bit of weight reduction. The vertical sandwich durability also extends the range of rider weights without diminishing the fun all-mountain characteristics. This board won't go flat after a couple of seasons--it's a design that girls can ride until they physically outgrow the dimensions or opt for a specialized snowboard design. If you have a rider who isn't afraid to take a few falls on the learning curve, the Ginger is an ideal choice because it extends the learning curve well beyond the realm of intermediate riding without diminishing the potential for fun on all sides of the mountain.
