Very good hiking boot I originally bought these for my upcoming climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro but have used them for hiking Mt. Sinai and in the Bwindi Impenterable forest as well. Fits and wears great right out of the box. My only regret is that I didn't buy two!

Great Traction Great boot... First the boot is very comfortable, with little to no break in period. The outers shed water effectively and keep your feet dry. I tested the waterproof construction of the boot this weekend, hiking along small tributaries leading into the Delaware river. With burying the boot in mud and water, they came up clean, and dry. The moisture just repels off. Last and most important to me is the traction. This boot has an aggressive tread, that is light weight. Merrill should stay away from the funky tread patterns and stick to what works, like the traction they used on this boot.

Great light hiker I'm on my second pair and use mostly for heavy construction. Excellent for light backpacking but I would not try Tanner trail in the Grand Canyon with shoes this soft.
