Description

Thermarest: ProLite 4 - Sleeping Pad (Small) - Altrec.com Product Description:

Great for backpacking and mountaineering, the Thermarest Prolite 4 Sleeping Pad, Small weighs barely more than a pound, which isn't all that much when you consider the importance of a good night's sleep on strenuous backcountry trips. It provides enough insulation for use on snow but because it's only 47 in. (119 cm) long many experienced alpinists and weight-conscious backcountry skiers pair it with a full length and lightweight Thermarest Z-Lite™ or RidgeRest® for deluxe warmth and cushioning from head to toe. And for trips that don't involve snow camping, they prefer the Prolite 4 Sleeping Pad, Small alone for the extra half inch (1.3 cm) of cushioning than offered on the Thermarest Prolite 3 Sleeping Pads.

  • Materials: 70 denier diamond ripstop textured polyester and 70 denier nylon with urethane grip dots to keep you on the pad when you sleep
  • Thickness: 1.5 in. (3.8 cm)
  • R-value: 3.2 (measure of insulating ability. The higher the value, the warmer the mattress)
  • Dimensions: 20 x 47 in. (51 x 119 cm)
  • Rolled dimensions: 11 x 4 in. (28 x 10 cm)
  • Weight: 1 lb. 1 oz. (482 g)

Comfort in a small package. A backpacking must have. Not only is it comfortable but it also keeps you a little warmer. It self inflates once you roll it out and then you can blow it up for added firmness. With this there is no need to sacrifice comfort when backpacking.

Great two nights sleep, looking forward to many more I purchased the ProLite 4 as a backpacking pad and got to use it last weekend. I wasn't sure if it's compact size would handle my needs for a good night sleep but it came through. Easy to inflate, easy to pack I would recommend it to anyone. I have tried it on two fairly diverse surfaces so far without any complaints.
