The functional aspect is largely due to the inclusion of Chaco's innovative BioCentric™ footbed contour that aligns and stabilizes the foot and even concentrates the fatty pad in the heel to enhance the heel's natural shock absorbing ability. The sensitive nature of the foot's underside is also well cared for with a smooth leather wrap over the top of the footbed contour that includes a Carbosan® layer underneath to reduce odor after full days of wear in hot weather. Although quite durable, the Chaco Sophia sandal's rubber sole can also be resoled, always a nice option to have with good fitting footwear.
