Peripheral composite rod suspension stabilizes the load and transfers the weight to the gender specific built-in IsoForm hipbelt and interchangeable shoulder harness. A Spacer Mesh foam backpanel keeps the air circulating between the pack bag and your back, and efficiently pulls moisture away from your back. Both the shoulder harness and hipbelt on the Osprey Waypoint 80 men's backpack stow behind a protective cover for carrying as a duffle bag or preparing for airline, train, or bus transport. Other luggage characteristics include a panel loading main compartment opening with a lockable #10 YKK zipper, very similar to the construction of most suitcases, plus foam stiffened sidewalls, and a luggage style side carry handle. For short excursions, a 600 cu. in. daypack detaches from the main backpack, or when attached it can be used as a large pocket for organizing big loads.
