Description

La Sportiva N.A.: Men's Nuptse Mountaineering Boot - Altrec.com Product Description:

If you go where the air is thin and your only heat source burns from within, few mountaineering boots fit or serve you better than the double boot La Sportiva Nuptse. Beneath the insulated shell is a warm inner boot made with close cell polyurethane foam and sealed with an internal lace closure system. The inner bootie has tread on the bottom so you can wear it in base camp and never remove it while at altitude. The Nuptse is step-in crampon compatible and sized in half-size increments for optimal comfort.

  • Insulated five-ply synthetic upper with a PU coating and a thermo-reflective aluminum coating
  • Thermo-reflective aluminum coated lining treated with an anti-abrasion flocking
  • Inner bootie comprised of high-density closed cell PE foam that's micro perforated for moisture transfer
  • Lacing system on inner bootie for improved fit
  • Tread on bottom of inner bootie (great for when nature calls at base camp)
  • Board last construction (Nuptse last)
  • 8 mm. reinforced Hytrel insole with a full-length, 2-mm. Dacromet coated steel shank with thermo-reflective aluminum facing
  • S8R Aircushion midsole
  • La Sportiva MPE sole with rubber rand
  • Crampon compatible
  • Weight: 6 lbs. per pair in size 41

Trustworthy High Altitude Boots The La Sportiva Nuptse is an incredible High altitude boot, or a low altitude winter boot. From seriously cold New England days or winter attempts in the North Cascades or Alaska, the Nuptse does a great job of keeping your feet warm while eliminating the lack of sensitivity issues that other double mountaineering boots have. Frontpointing in crampons is solid, and with the proper fit the heels do not slip. Also, snowboarders have chosen this boot for their first choice for a split-board boot. It climbs as well as it descends. The other great feature is the liners themselves. You can walk around camp and not be worried that you are going to beat them up; they are beefy and comfortable. There is nothing worse than having to walk around in your shells at night when you have to "relieve" yourself. They are definitely worth the investment; you're getting every penny in performance, reliability and comfort. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. drewp@altrec.com
