Description

Molehill: Kids' Shelled Mitten - Altrec.com Product Description:

Molehill developed their warm shelled mittens with the same materials used in their popular and highly practical shelled booties. The outer face consists of a triple-ply layer of water-resistant Supplex® nylon and gripper material along the palms. The inner layer of warm fleece resists pilling and lasts through several siblings and distant cousins. Clips on the wrists help prevent your kittens from losing their mittens over the summer.

  • Triple-ply Supplex® nylon with a DWR finish
  • Gripper material on palms for durability and stability
  • Non-pilling fleece lining
  • Hook and loop closure

Decent mittens for toddlers If you're looking for cold weather mittens for your toddler. You'll quickly find out that there isn't much selection. We needed to gear up our 21 month old daughter for the cold of Nome, Alaska (below 0 temperatures and worse if there's wind). I had planned to use a glove liner in conjunction with these mitts, but didn't need to. They are well made, and like the other reviewers state... they run large! My wife can nearly fit her hands in the toddler size. They also work great with a hot hands heat pack in them too. I think these gloves will grow with our daughter and serve their purpose, but you do need to consider something else in conjunction with the mitts to keep little fingers warm (consider the length of time of exposure too).

Great Overmit I don't think the other reviewers got the concept. Sure they're big, we use them as overmitts. These are not what we use for everyday and school. I bought them when my seven year old's hands got really cold with traditional ski gloves. We use them for skiing when it's cold over other mittens or gloves. If necessary you can even place a heat pad in them. Overmitts are what I personally use in extreme cold (-20) and they work great even without a heat pad. Of course, we don't let the kids out when it's -20. :-)

Nice Mittens! The mittens are well made. They run a little on the big side, the toddler + size fits my 5 year old!
